We have always seen parties as more than what happens onsite. Music, culture, setting, and community shape the character of an event. Ultimately, these elements hold the power to give deeper meaning to a format. We perceive nightlife as a wellspring of culture — an energetic interplay of opposing forces. Freedom and hedonism, but also art and morality. We believe these facets of life deserve to be captured and embedded within a broader cultural context.
The idea of R0 (pronounced “R null”) has started with a strong will to create. From the beginning on, it was our goal to form something multidimensional, actively fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. With R0 we aim to establish a platform that goes beyond the conventional. The only consistency in the direction of each volume is creative freedom and inconsistency. The only continuum is our puristic understanding of electronic music, always ensuring high quality in sound and a cohesive artistic portfolio. Each volume is embedded in a cultural context whose framework can vary from event to event, shaped by the artists, the music, the setting, the people.
To capture these synergies and to archive something fleeting, every party will be conceptualised through a digital magazine. To root R0 within a broader landscape, the magazine visually and editorially reflects the event’s core. It features interviews with contributors, artist portraits, and editorial content that expands beyond music. With this format, we aim to highlight narratives often overlooked and turn momentary experience into lasting impact.
R0 provides a space where shared intuition, aesthetic sensitivity, and collaborative process can unfold, without needing to resolve into a singular identity. Naturally, R0 refines its method with every volume. It is a continuous, collective sketch. While we don’t want to impose creative boundaries, the dancefloor will forever remain our nucleus.
